The Clay Pit

.

The clay pit is just under 5 feet deep for an area of about 4 1/2 by 9 feet, and has a total surface area of roughly 10 by 10 feet. The mud is composed of pure, inorganic clay with a grey, slightly grey-greenish color.

In addition to several level approaches and lots of lush background foliage, this pit has a 13 1/2 by 13 1/2 foot deck on one side that can serves as a camera platform or that can be configured s part of the set itself. The clay pit is equipped with 3000 watts of artificial lighting in 500 watt increments, a compressor for generating bubbles, an overhead screen to reduce sunlight glare, and a great deal of real and synthetic foliage.

One of the really COOL features of the clay pit is that it has a built HEATING system. Water is heated continuously and circulated through hoses buried in the mud. Way cool!,....er,...    Hot!
