Private Fantasy Videos/Photo Shoots
The term "fantasy video" refers to a video made for an individual, couple, or highly limited group, in which some personal fantasy is acted out in some way. Such a production really differs from a commercial video shoot only in the sense that the product is not for sale or distribution.
The typical client for a fantasy shoot is a couple, who will also be the only, or primary, consumers for the product. Unless the clients are able to bring extra crew along there will generally be only the facility manager available to assist. Thus, the filming techniques must generally be limited to what can be done by two people and one or two performers.
Scenarios for fantasy videos can be extremely varied. Often, they will involve some kind of fetish element such as the performer wearing a particular kind of outfit or shoes, or they may have no plot other than playing in and gradually sinking deeper into the mud. For those with no particular scenario in mind, Studio 588 does have several pre-planned script/storyboards that are suitable.
When a scene is made that is not for sale, we have expenses that cannot be recovered. Therefore, we must charge the client a fee for this kind of work. The daily rental rate for the studio is comparable to a hotel room in Manhattan. However, unlike the hotels, we can be generous in trading value for value. For example, we may be able to accept used wardrobe items, wigs, props, or labor in lieu of cash. Also, IF the scene or scenes being shot are such that they may be sellable, AND if the client is willing to sign a release permitting such sale, then a significant portion and perhaps all of the daily rental fee might be waived.
We can be pretty flexible about what you can film but not infinitely so. If what you want to do is hard core, please look elsewhere for a location.
Important Note: Although Studio 588 MIGHT be able to arrange for an additional crew member for projects of this type, all arrangements for on-camera talent are the responsibility of the client.
